The Energy Crisis
As the global demand for energy increases at an exponentially growing rate, the price for these resources also climbs. In many Western Countries the price of gasoline and other fuels is often subsidized which artificially suppresses the market price. This in turn also suppresses the development of alternative fuels by making them less price competitive in the market. Therefore, one step that could be undertaken is to begin to alleviate the fuel subsidies on items such as coal and gasoline.
